In Memory of Roger Klein
In 2020 and 2021 we recycled over 13,000 pounds of cans given to us by Roger's brother, Bob. These were all cans that Roger had left in his two big sheds. Of course, the money we made — $5,290.70 — was a big boost to help us get started. But something even better came out of that day. When we put the word out that we needed help recycling, people showed up with trucks and trailers and worked with us all day to get the first round of cans to Rapid City. From that crew we found devoted volunteers and committed board members, as well as publicity that helped us continue to grow. All three of the full recycling days it took to get the job done were exhausting, fun and rewarding in so many intangible ways!
We DO NOT have a recycling program, because a great one already exists in town. Click here to go to the Keep Hot Springs Beautiful site to learn where to recycle your cans (and more)!
